IPL 2024: Virat Kohli equaled the unpopular record with 67 balls

Kolkata: Virat Kohli during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru IPL 2024 match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.

Virat Kohli scored his 8th IPL 100 off 67 balls, his 9th in T20 cricket, against Raja, also on debut during the Stan Royals. Virat remained unbeaten on 113 off 72 balls, his innings including 4 sixes and 12 fours, taking RCB to 183/3. But Virat has equaled the record for the slowest century (in terms of the ball) in the IPL. This record belongs to Manish Pandey, who became the first Indian to score a century in the IPL.

While playing for RCB, Pandey scored 67 points against Deccan Chargers in the 2009 Centurion match. Next on the list are Sachin Tendulkar, David Warner and Jos Buttler, who hit hundreds off 66 balls delivery.
